What is eczema?...

Isn't that a loaded question.. According to MayoClinic's website, it's described as atopic dermatitis usually developed in early childhood and includes dry skin, itching, red to brownish-gray patches, small, raised bumps, thicken, cracked, scaly skin, and raw, sensitive, swollen areas. They also describe it as a rash typically appearing on the arms and behind the knees but can appear everywhere. *

Seems simple enough, right? But.. it's not. That's a generic version of what we all experience now a days. All of our experiences, especially within the last couple of years, have been different. Eczema doesn't just affect one aspect of your life. It affects everything. Your skin, your self esteem, your confidence, what you wear with flare-ups, if you should go swimming or not, and the list goes on. Eczema affects your physical, mental, and emotional health as well. And because there's no cure, this is a life struggle, not just a one time occurrence.

So what do you do? How do you deal with something that affect so much of how you live?...

You take those lemons and make the best lemonade you can!

What do I mean by that?....

Learn your body, learn your triggers and types of foods that affect you negatively, learn how to establish a regular skin care and moisturizing routine, and then love on yourself regardless.
